The Spain Pictures, la la la
- The Cathedral in Seville as seen from the
side. It's the 3rd largest cathedral in Europe (after St. Peter's in Rome
and St. Paul's in London).
- The Giralda. A leftover minaret from the
mosque that was ousted to make way for the cathedral, this tower goes up
320 feet. 230 of those feet can be accessed by a sloping ramp that was
built to accomodate horses. Yes, horses.
- Magnificent. Seville rocked.
- Cori, about to venture deeper into the
Alcazaba (the palace of Peter the Cruel, in Seville).
- More architectural splendor in the
Alcazaba.
- Queen of the Alcazaba.
- Gardens in the Alcazaba. You have no idea
how big this place is. Trust me.
- More in the gardens. So when does my bust
go up, I wonder. Time to invade Spain baby.
- Chapel of the new-age monotheistic death
cultists. They had boss interior decorators, I have to admit.
- Fountain of Mercury. That refers to the
god in the middle, and does not imply that the pool is full of
insanity-causing liquid metal. I had to fiddle with brightness levels to
make this thing visible which is why the sky seems grey. Sorry!
- The real gardens of the Alcazaba.
The other gardens were puny in comparison.
- The Baths. They looked spooky so I took a
picture.
- The view from our hotel window. I
kid you not. That's the big mosque that we didn't photograph because we
couldn't do it justice. Our hotel was the El Conquistador. Cool, huh.
- My new summer residence.
- Beneath the bridge in Cordoba. That's the
Rio Guadalquivir, I believe.
- Cordoba as seen from just off the bridge.
