Allegiance Telecommunications - Network Operations
Engineer (2002 - June, 2003) Allegiance Telecommunications acquired Intermedia Communications After dissolution of network security department, took over level I engineer duties in the Network Operations Center (NOC). As network engineer, was responsible for ticketing and troubleshooting issues across a tier I nationwide (and international, via satellite) network. Issues ranged from routing concerns over Cisco and Juniper hardware to fiber failures on lines up to and including OC48s. Coordinated diagnosis and repair between tier II engineers, dispatch technicians and customers. Auxiliary duties included composing "post-mortem" reports detailing significant or persistent issues, ticket analysis to establish trends in failures and work flow, and assisting other engineers and managers with general troubleshooting and modelling. |

Manager/Customer Liaison (2000 - 2002) After dissolution of turnkey support department, took over customer management and shift lead duties in the Security Management Center (SMC). As customer liaison, worked with high visibility and impact clients to ensure consistent customer satisfaction, seamless operations and transparent security management. As shift manager, acted as a senior point of escalation for technical issues regarding remote management of over 100 Nokia security appliances running Checkpoint firewall software. |
